Follow us on Twitter (with an explanation of what it is below)
Twitter is a micro-blogging service. It limits updates to 140 characters so you have to be short and to the point.
There are hundreds of thousands of users on this system. And its not just indivduals. Here’s a list of companies using Twitter to talk to people.
We are using it to provide service updates (if the mail servers are having problems, then we cannot e-mail you), short news blips, and help answer questions others may have about hosting and using the web.
You can use it in so many ways, it’s impossible to list them all here. Some people use it to stay in touch with friends (like an IM system), post thoughts throughout the day, post news articles, ask questions, cheer for teams, link to pictures, vote for ideas, and more…
Anthony Coppedge just launched an e-book specifically about Churches and Twitter. You can find it at http://www.twitterforchurches.com/ .
One of the reasons organizations use Twitter is to track key words and phrases of interest to them. You can track these words and phrases using a free service called TweetScan.
You can update your status from the web, via e-mail, or from your phone.
