Case Study: Mt. Sinai Congregational Church

Problem:

Mt. Sinai Congregational Church in New York wanted a Web site that could keep the community and members up-to-date on church events. They did not have an extensive in-house staff and needed a user-friendly system that would allow someone without advanced knowledge of Web sites to easily construct Web pages and update content.

Solution:

WebMedley’s technology staff and customer support team provided Mt. Sinai with all details necessary to make an informed purchase. Mt. Sinai made use of the instructional classes and video tutorials included with the system to build a fully-functional and content-rich Web site from the ground up -- in one month.

Results:

Their new church Web site directly contributed to greater involvement by their members and community. Their Vacation Bible School page had over 100 visitors in two weeks and boosted enrollment through downloadable registration forms immediately available on the Web site. The Church’s 200th anniversary events page had over 300 visitors in two weeks which increased overall attendance to the events.

Case Study: Bethlehem Lutheran Church

Problem:

Bethlehem Lutheran Church wanted to provide stronger outreach to the community and keep pace with growth trends of national and area churches. However, their Web site was inflexible and did not portray the vitality of their congregation.

Solution:

Webmedley’s content management system would allow the church staff to make timely changes to the Web site without bottlenecks while waiting for technical staff to become available. Communication and participation could also be enhanced via group interaction tools such as forums and blogs.

Results:

Since Bethlehem Lutheran launched the WebMedley Web site as part of their outreach efforts, they reported a dramatic increase in attendance and involvement. Sunday services alone saw a 34% increase from 2004 to 2006.

Case Study: Brooklyn Presbyterian Church

Problem:

The church staff was spending too much time on administrative duties like event registration, schedules, and general information requests. They wanted to reduce postage and production expenses for their newsletters. And they wanted to easily update the site without hiring specialized technical personnel.

Solution :

Brooklyn Presbyterian Church upgraded their Web site to the new WebMedley platform and used the newsletter management module to give members a choice of email instead of print newsletters. Church staff was able to train volunteers to edit the Web site via WebMedley’s simple content editor.

Results :

The savings the church realized from offering email newsletters alone paid for their Web site expenses. They also saved money by moving Web site editing duties from expensive programmers to church volunteers.

Placing all event registration and information online reduced administrative informational requests and allowed the staff to devote substantially more time to the spiritual needs of the congregation.
